Coach Jeff Long is a 1987 graduate of Clinton High School who played three years of baseball and basketball under coach Doug Hutton. He also played on 7 State Championship select soccer teams representing Clinton,MS. He learned the game of soccer from the late Tommy Bobo who was instrumental in starting a solid soccer foundation in Clinton. Following CHS, he was a 2-time All-State shortstop for the record setting Hinds C.C. baseball squads of 1988 and 1989. His next 2 years were spent playing baseball at Delta State University where he was an All Gulf South Conference selection and an All Region selection in 1991. Following a Masters degree from DSU, Jeff coached soccer at Warren Central High School for 4 years before coming home to Clinton in 1999. As the Head Boys' Soccer coach, he has compiled a record of 221 wins and 59 losses in 12 seasons. His teams have captured 3 Class 5A State Championships, 3 North State Titles ,1 South State Title and 8 District Championships. He was named the 'Clarion Ledger-Coach of the Year' for the 2009 season. He was named 'MAC Coach of the Year' in 2005 and in 2006 he was named 'Southeastern Sectional Coach of the Year' by the National Federation High School Coaches Association. Following the 2006 season , his Arrows were ranked #9 Nationally by Adidas and Soccer America Magazine.
He has coached the Arrow Golf Team for the past 6 seasons. Jeff is married to the former Jennifer Jacobs of Clinton and they have two precious girls, Jaden (11) and Jenna (8) .
